Telecom Tax Rebate Program for Machesney Park Seniors Opens July 1

MACHESNEY PARK, IL  (June 28, 2024) – The Village of Machesney Park is pleased to announce the return of the Telecom Tax Rebate Program, starting July 1, 2024, designed to help our seniors manage their telecommunications expenses. Eligible seniors aged 65 and over with a median household income at or below 50% for the Rockford MSA, as defined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, can apply for a rebate of up to $25 on the telecommunications tax portion of their telephone bills.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Age 65 or over;
• Principal residence within Machesney Park;
• Total household income must not exceed 50% of the median income for the Rockford MSA;
• Proof of home ownership or renter status; and
• Paid telephone bill documentation

$28,850     $33,000     $37,100     $41,200     $44,500     $47,800

Rebate Details:
• Maximum rebate per household: $25
• Minimum rebate: $10
• Awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget allocation is exhausted
