HOLIDAY LIGHTING CONTEST WINNERS
The Outdoor Lighting Display Contest in Machesney Park is the Village’s way of recognizing residents whose Christmas decorations stand out from the rest. The extra time, energy and money they have spent on the displays, and the imaginative touches they supplied, added to the excitement of the Christmas Season for many residents and children in our community. The apparent hard work residents put into providing this gift of lights and the generosity of Machesney Park merchants, not only brought pleasure to the local neighborhoods, but also fostered a positive image of the entire Machesney Park Village. Thank you to the Village Student Liaison for spending several hours critiquing and judging this year’s finalists. The Village of Machesney Park is also very thankful for the outstanding businesses in our community that donated prizes, which encouraged residents to enhance their homes with beautiful lighting displays. Because of their generosity, the Village was able to award prize baskets that promote business in the Village and encourage residents to shop locally.
