MACHESNEY PARK, IL (September 12, 2017) – Village officials announced on Tuesday that Ross Dress For Less is opening their newest location in Machesney Park.
The apparel retailer’s new 20,000 square-foot store, at 1025 West Lane, in the Machesney Crossings shopping center is one of 70 new stores the company has committed to opening in 2017. Ross Store, Inc., plans 10 more stores in Chicagoland in 2018, according to information conveyed at the International Council of Shopping Centers Chicagoland Retail Connection event in August. Ross Dress For Less will occupy a storefront between Ulta Beauty and Michael’s facing Route 173.
During a time at which department stores and traditional apparel chains have been challenged by internet sales, Ross Dress For Less has experienced steady growth. According to a news release on the company’s website, Ross Stores, Inc., reported in August that sales rose 8% over the previous year and that net earnings grew to $317 million, compared to $282 million during the prior year.
Machesney Park Village officials and the property owner, First Midwest Group, worked cooperatively to secure Ross Dress For Less in Machesney Crossings. Village administrator Tim Savage commended First Midwest Group for their efforts to bring Machesney Crossings to nearly 100% occupancy. “Ross Dress compliments the other retailers within the center and provides synergy that makes for a pleasant shopping experience,” said Savage.
Ross Dress For Less joins recent additions Rue 21, Ulta Beauty and the forthcoming Lavish Nail Bar, at Machesney Crossings.
