Welcome to the Village of Machesney Park

On the grounds of the original Machesney “Rockford” Airport, spirits now soar instead of bi-planes. The Village of Machesney Park is a community in the truest sense of the word. Here, neighbors say “hi” by name, visitors find warm smiles and open arms, and residents share a sense of shared purpose and civic pride.  The Village’s name “Machesney Park” comes from Fred Machesney, a barnstorming aviator and founder of the airfield, combined with the area’s first name of North Park. Today, Mr. Fred Machesney’s spirit of innovation, possibility, and joy lives on!

The Village government center, the Frank G. Bauer Municipal Hall, is located at 300 Roosevelt Road, behind and beside the Machesney Park Town Center. All municipal departments are located here along with Winnebago County Sheriffs Department, Machesney Park Division. Services at Village Hall include payment of parking & ordinance fines, application, review & issuance of building & fence permits, business & liquor licenses, and much more. The meeting of the Village’s various commissions and committees also take place here, as well as the bi-monthly Village Board of Trustee meetings. Residents and guests are encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings!  For a list of the various boards, commissions, and committees and the times in which they meet please visit the Agenda & Minutes page.

Municipal Hall is open on all non-government holidays Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. For questions, concerns and input, contact us at (815) 877.5432 or  Please review the above menus and subsequent options below them where you can find a wealth of information on the Village’s history, the local community, current elected officials, the various departments, permits & applications, and much more.  If you cannot find what you are looking for on the website, by all means, come see us or contact us at Village Hall!
